Cosmic
Cosmic is my ongoing series of illustrations which document the travels of a pair of cosmic explorers. I began creating these pieces as a means of fulfilling my own desire to explore the cosmos, and to exercise the wealth of curiosity and inspiration I draw from outer space.
Cosmic is purely a self-driven project. It is both a creative outlet with which I can express my love for storytelling, as well as a way to push myself to try new things in illustration; conceptually and technically.
quark & Lepton
Quark is an endlessly curious explorer of the cosmos. He travels from planet to planet, observing and cataloguing every new plant and animal he finds. His two most important rules for exploring the cosmos are these: accept without judgement, and always clean up after himself. Every planet Quark visits is different; different people, different customs, different world. Quark doesn’t judge. And he always does his best to leave a place nicer than when he found it. His journey is one of quiet wonder and appreciation for the diverse beauty of the universe.
Lepton lives for adventure. Every new world he finds is another place to find friends and fun. He is endlessly outgoing and faultlessly– if a bit recklessly– brave, and seeks to find joy in every discovery he makes on his travels. Lepton believes in the kindness of others, and every creature’s inherent capacity for love. His journey is one of excitement and admiration for the myriad of life brimming in the universe.
